Yep, I was in Germany having a lovely time, but now I’m almost in the good old US of A getting ready for what’s going to be an awesome week in upstate New York.
Right now, for the next five hours I’m actually in Montreal, Canada.
What I’m doing
I flew into Montreal last night – beautiful place – and am travelling to Plattsburgh in New York ready to spend the next few days wine tasting, fishing, cycling, climbing and hiking my way round Lake Champlain, Adirondacks and the Thousand Island region.
I’ve been invited by the local tourist board to take part in an Eat, Play, Love challenge here. Along with a few other travel bloggers I’m going to show you as much of what there is to do here as possible. As well as all the activities I’ll be sampling the locally sourced food, craft beers and wines, and checking out some of the coolest hotels in the area too.
It’s kind of a competition to see who can find the best stories.
It’s also going to be a world away from the craziness and intensity of the European cities I’ve been partying in these last few weeks.
Where is it, exactly?
The area is one of the most popular parks in the US, but I’ll admit, I’d never even heard of it. I’ll be two hours from Montreal, five hours from NYC and right in the middle of the Adirondack Park which is larger than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier and Grand Canyon National Parks combined.
This is going to be a real ‘outdoorsy’ trip – exactly what I need right now to feel fit and escape the cities. I hope you’ll follow along with the adventure, discover it with me!
