On Friday I’ll be packing my pot o gold and my drinking hat and boarding the Ryanair flight to Knock airport in Ireland. Two of my very good friends are getting married in their hometown of Westport and I’m lucky enough to be invited to share in the big day.

Thanks to the Mill Times Hotel I shall be enjoying some great Irish hospitality and exploring all that western Ireland has to offer. I’ve only ever been to Dublin and Belfast before so really looking forward to seeing another side of the country, especially as there are roughly 14 other guests getting the flight with me, that I know of. I love a good group holiday – and when we’re going for a reason as special as this, I just know it’s going to be a brilliant weekend.

Sounds like there’s loads to do in Westport, although I’ll only have the Friday afternoon and evening and Sunday to explore, but that’s ok. It’s only an hour long flight so I can return whenever I like.

There are a lot of museums there, a few heritage centres and an abbey and gardens. Is it wrong that I’m most excited about taking a long walk along the beach and then stopping in a traditional pub for a pint?
