Everyone should have a holiday 2018 bucket list. There are so many exciting places to visit in the world and if you don’t write them all down you may forget. Here is some inspiration if you are compiling your list for next year.

Jerusalem, Israel

Jerusalem is a beautiful city in Israel that is rich in history and religious monuments. Be sure to explore The Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can visit places that are sacred to the religions of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Take a trip to Masada to watch the sun rise over the Dead Sea and sit on top of a mountain fortress. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the dead sea and immerse yourself in the power of the historic healing waters.

Rome, Italy

Rome is a beautiful historical city that should be on everyone’s bucket list. Do some planning beforehand and you can skip some of the lines for the various popular tourist destinations like the Colosseum, Seven Hills of Rome, the Arch of Constantine, and Vatican City. See the beautiful Trevi Fountain and toss some coins and make a wish. There are plenty of free things to do in Rome, and you can join walking tours that will point out some of the area’s best eateries so that you can enjoy your food at every meal.

Langkawi, Malaysia


Langkawi is an archipelago on the west coast that is made up of 99 islands. The beaches are beautiful, the diving is amazing, and there are plenty of places to explore. Tanjung Rhu is one of the most popular beaches and there is a resort to stay at. If you visit the area during the non-rainy season you can walk to other islands during low tide. Pantai Cenang is also a great area to head for a beach break. Take a ride on the cable car in Pulau Langkawi to get a panoramic view of the area.

Taghazout, Morocco

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, going surfing is such a great activity to add to your 2018 bucket list. Morocco has been popular for surfers of all levels since the 1950’s. The peak season for surfing is between April and September and you will find great waves. Head to Taghazout, an area that is popular with beginners, and you can find lots of places that offer rentals, instructors, and plenty of great accommodations. Further down the coast you’ll find Mirleft, which has five fabulous beaches to try out and you can also get yoga and surfing combination packages through the various schools there.

Shanghai, China

If you want to immerse yourself in a new culture and have a truly memorable time, then a holiday to China will be the perfect addition to your bucket list. One of the coolest ways to reach Shanghai is to fly into Beijing and take the bullet train. The train takes 6 hours to complete the 1400km journey and it reaches a top speed of 350 km per hour. Shanghai is the country’s financial hub and it is filled with glittering modern buildings like the 632m Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Head to the promenade of Bund where you can walk along the spectacular riverfront that is lined with colonial era buildings and was once considered the financial district of the city. Visit Yùyuán Garden to stroll past lovely trees, water pools, flowers, and rockeries.
