How to Use Tesco Clubcard Points for UK Days Out
You can use Tesco Clubcard points to save money on visits to theme parks, zoos, aquariums, museums and historical sites in the UK. Let me show you how…
Use your Tesco Clubcard points to treat yourself. In fact, it’s often far better to use your Clubcard points to save money on days out than on shopping. Points can be worth more when redeemed with a Tesco reward partner, than in a Tesco store.
Think, England’s famous castles, SEA LIFE aquariums, England’s best zoos, theme parks like Alton Towers and Drayton Manor… the list goes on.
So, here’s your guide to how to earn, save and use Clubcard points to enjoy some days out this year.
How to earn Tesco Clubcard points
Get a Clubcard and use it to earn points every time you shop. You can then use these points to get discounts on shopping trips in the future.
Or, you could use these points to get discounts with Tesco’s reward partners.
In most cases, your points are worth double when redeemed with a reward partner.
Earn points by simply scanning your Clubcard when you pay for your shopping at Tesco. I’ve got my Clubcard in the app on my phone to make things easier. Points are then added automatically.
Keep in mind that you won’t get your points straight away – your account gets topped up every quarter.
Typically, you’ll earn one Clubcard point for every pound you spend at Tesco, and 100 Clubcard points are worth £1. This means 500 points equal £5, 10,000 points equals £100, and so on.
More ways to earn Tesco Clubcard points
- Tesco Mobile: SIM-only package holders can earn one point for every £1 spent on their contract.
- Tesco Bank: Earn Clubcard points every time you use your credit card. You’ll get a point for every £4 spent at a Tesco store and £8 you spend elsewhere.
- Petrol stations: You’ll receive one Clubcard point for every two litres of fuel you purchase at an Esso or Tesco petrol station.

Tesco Clubcard points are valid for two years, so if any of yours are about to expire, now’s the perfect time to treat yourself to a day out. But how can you use your Tesco points for a fun day out?
How to use Tesco points for days out
Use the Clubcard app, or the Tesco Clubcard website, and you can browse through all the Tesco’s reward partner offers available.
Find one you like? Now you can decide how many of your points you want to exchange. Tesco’s reward partners will usually give you £1 to spend for every 50p worth of points you exchange. This means that your Clubcard points are worth twice as much if you spend them on a day out rather than in a Tesco store.
So, you could use 1,000 Clubcard points to either get a tenner off your shopping or £20 off an amazing day out, such as a trip to Alton Towers.
After exchanging your points, you’ll receive a Tesco Reward Partner code that you can use to cover the cost of your chosen offer. If your code doesn’t cover the full cost, you can use another form of payment to pay the rest.
If your voucher’s value is higher than the purchase price, you’ll receive the change in Clubcard points, which will be available in your next statement.
