Destinations

My destination travel guides are thoroughly researched and tried and tested. I want to show you exactly what I did in a place, so you can either do the same, or sometimes, learn from my mistakes.

I cover where to stay, what to do, how to do it and why, in all kinds of holidays around the world. I hope the destination you want to visit is here.

Destinations travel tips

On my blog you’ll find budget tips, money-saving advice, recommendations on places to stay, things to see and do, and where to eat. Over the last nine years of travel blogging I’ve covered many different types of travel, from cruises, to backpacking trips, two-week holidays, couples trips and ladies getaways with friends.

As well as packing, solo travel and camping, I also like to write about road trips, about female travel, and wellness too. You’ll see I’ve done all of these things all over the world. There’s still so much more to see but as I’ve got older I’ve definitely realised the importance of taking it easy, and slow, to travel deeper and to see more in a destination, rather than travelling through as quickly as I can.

The world is not a tick list!

Although, I do really want to reach 100 countries before the end of my life journey.

I’ve been to over 75 countries around the world, and I want to show you the best of them all. But that would take a lifetime and so, here’s the crème de la crème of my travels.

These destination guides will help you plan your trips, and hopefully inspire you to see even more of the world!

I’ve also written some great guides to awesome Airbnbs around the world.

The best company for booking flights is clearly Skyscanner – they’re the only flight comparison site I use. So easy, the app is simple to navigate and the site simple to use. I always consult Skyscanner when I go to book any flight, I think it’s just habit now as I’ve alway been happy with the service.

Over 80% of the time I use Booking.com to book my hotel. This is mainly because most of the hotels have a free cancellation  policy and my plans are always changing. It’s also an easy interface to use, has good big pictures so I can see exactly what to expect from the hotel.
