The Best Family Airbnb in Haworth? Inside This Beautiful Yorkshire Stay (Full Review + Photos)

My family and I stayed at this gorgeous airbnb in Haworth and had the best time – we genuinely didn’t want to leave. Here’s a full review and why it worked so well.

staying at a unique airbnb in haworth

For starters, the location is incredible – perched high on the hill overlooking Haworth, with miles of green farmland stretching out for miles and miles. After navigating the steep, winding roads (and re-learning hill starts I never have to use in Portsmouth), it felt good to arrive at the gates of Manor Farm.

This family airbnb in Haworth looked incredible – like something straight out of Grand Designs. There was loads of space on the drive (although Mum insisted I park a metre back… just in case we rolled off). We were all excited to get inside and pick our bedrooms.

This wellness rural retreat turned out to be perfect for a family getaway with my mum, dad, brother, niece and my son Reggie – here’s why:

First impressions: space and stillness

The house is a converted barn, and you get that lovely mix of rustic charm and modern comfort straight away. It’s one of those places where you walk in and immediately relax – although as you’ll see on my Instagram Reel we were buzzing to look round.

There’s loads of space – which, when you’re travelling with kids AND parents, is absolutely essential.

No one’s on top of each other, there are corners to escape to, and enough seating that you can all sit together without someone being perched awkwardly on the arm of a sofa. There was even a whole other lounge area upstairs which would be great if you were travelling in a bigger group and had teens with you.

The open-plan living area was the heart of the house for us. Big comfy sofas, a proper dining table, and a kitchen that actually had everything we needed. In fact, there were two kitchens – both better than my one at home.

We had this huge grand kitchen table to gather round, although those chairs were impossible to move!

Review of the four bedrooms

The four bedrooms worked brilliantly for our group of six.

My niece just had to have the room with the pink desk, bed and toys – she loved it in there! And so my brother took the adjoining room with a bathroom between them and amazing views out to Haworth.

Reggie and I shared the king room setup with a big bathroom and an incredible view over the fields.

I’d been so excited about the room and the bathroom, and all that space as I’d been so tired from all the fun and the journey then when it came to bedtime realised there were no curtains – I was crushed. I was so tired.

Turned out to be the best thing.

We read our books as the sun set, with the countryside lights outside starting to twinkle. I just went to sleep when Reggie did and had one of the longest, best sleeps ever. I woke before Reggie (never happens) and just lay there watching the sun come up.

Our king bedroom

I honestly had two of my best night’s sleep in there. The mattress was perfect, and the bedding so luxurious. I’d been sharing a bed with my son in a double the last few nights and he is a wriggler. In that huge bed, it didn’t matter!

I loved seeing my niece be so excited by her pink room, and the two of them play together with all the toys that had been left there for them.

Family airbnb in Haworth with a hot tub

The hot tub was ready for us when we arrived so after unpacking, we got in!

It was so lovely and warm, and amazing to look out to the view. The kids loved it, and so did I. The time in there was definitely one of the highlights of our stay there. We were so lucky with the weather for our April stay – it was perfect.

Haworth airbnb that’s perfect for families

One of the things I loved most is that this Haworth airbnb is genuinely family-friendly without feeling like it’s been designed purely for kids.

There’s enough space for little ones to run around, the layout is practical, and the whole place just feels relaxed – you’re not constantly worried about someone knocking something over.

My brother designed a easter egg hunt for the kids one morning, and they loved running round the house finding the clues. We also played hide and seek, set up crafts at the dinner table, and loved making cocktails and mocktails outside.

I’d brought some bubble games with us, and we ended up going through two bottles just watching them drift across the fields. There’s a wind turbine nearby, so when the wind picks up, you really feel it – perfect for chasing bubbles.

There’s loads of room for the kids to play, but it still feels considered and grown-up. Stylish, calm, and without that overly ‘functional’ feel you sometimes get with family-friendly places.

It’s not easy to pull off, but this place really gets the balance right.

Location: quiet but close to everything

The house is just outside Haworth in Oxenthorpe. It’s right in Brontë country, with rolling hills, proper countryside walks, and a lovely peaceful atmosphere.

But you’re not isolated either.

We wandered into the village for a mooch around the shops and cafés and a visit to the Bronte centre. Unfortunately we quickly realised Tuesday is NOT the day for this – it’s the one day a week it’s all closed.

We could see the pubs, curiosity shops and bakeries though – instead we popped into one for a cake and drink and wandered down to the playground in the beautiful Central Park.

Make sure to book your evening pub meals in Haworth in advance. We tried to book on the day and couldn’t get in anywhere at 5:30pm on a Tuesday evening!

The house would be a great base if you want to explore more of Yorkshire — but with ony two nights there we were just as happy staying put.

We had been to Cannon Hill Farm in Barnsley on the way up, which was about an hour and a half away. And then on the way home we went to Eureka Museum in Halifax (half an hour away and a brilliant UK day out) which ended up being one of the best drives I’ve ever done!

It was a beautiful day, you could see for miles, no traffic on a Wednesday morning and the kids were happily playing ‘What Am I?’ in the back of the car. Felt dreamy.

Value for money at the house

When you split the cost between a group, this kind of place becomes surprisingly good value. Especially when you think we had two breakfasts there (for all different tastes), my brother cooked spaghetti bolognaise one night, I cooked pizzas another, and we had fish and chips from the local chip shop for around £30 for all of us too.

You’re getting:

  • Four bedrooms
  • A full kitchen
  • Outdoor space
  • A private hot tub
  • A great location
  • Somewhere to cook (and many great spots to drink)

Compared to booking multiple hotel rooms, this actually works out surprisingly good value – especially with kids. You’ve got all that space, your own kitchen, and no need to juggle separate rooms. There’s a three-night minimum stay (five during the summer holidays).

To give you a rough idea on price, it’s around £1,777 for a midweek stay in June, or £2,605 for a weekend in July. Split between eight people, that comes in at roughly £325 each for three nights – which, for somewhere like this, feels pretty reasonable. Especially if you count the saving on food, drink and activities we made by just enjoying the house and being together.

Would I go back?

Definitely.

This is exactly the kind of place I love – somewhere that feels like a proper escape but is still easy, comfortable, and just works for a multitude of tastes.

airbnb in Haworth for families

It’s ideal for:

  • Family getaways
  • Multi-generational trips
  • Low-key celebrations
  • A reset weekend where you actually relax

And most importantly, it’s somewhere where everyone – from my parents to my son – genuinely had a great time. In fact, Reggie says it’s his best weekend ever!

This stay was gifted – I’ll always let you know when something is, and I’ll always tell you if it’s actually worth your money.
