Photos from Tomatina 2015: 70th Birthday Edition

I took part in the biggest tomato fight in the world, La Tomatina, today, in Bunol. There’s plenty of explanation to come, once I’ve got the tomato pips from my hair, but for now here’s a few photos of Tomatina I managed to get from today.

I’d like you to know I risked my face for these – apparently holding a Go Pro up on a selfie stick makes you a target for low flying tomatoes…

A few people have said that – I'm shocked at how many people hate tomatoes?! I didn't know it was a thing. I ruddy love em!

Bizarrely enough I first heard of La Tomatina in a recent Bollywood film (?!) and it's intrigued me ever since, it looks mental but in a great way! I have absolutely no idea how it came about though.

Wow, that's a pretty random way to hear about it. I've still never actually watched a Bollywood film – that's bad isn't it? Anyway, yes, Tomatina is pretty much the definition of crazy – everyone goes nuts for the tomatoes and doesn't care who gets in the way. Bonkers!

I loooove tomatoes, so it breaks my heart to see them smashed everywhere :)

Breaks your heart? Yikes, you've fallen for them bad! I also loved tomatoes and might have licked the corner of my mouth to see what they tasted like now and then. Yum yum.

It was an awesome festival – whole thing only lasted about 4 hours, but definitely a fun filled 4 :)
